The Key Features Designed Into The Hi-Percarb® Series 146U Drills Allow The Product To Offer Application Benefits Not Only Beyond That Of Standard Carbide Drills, But Also Other High Performance Drills. Each Feature Of The Hi-Percarb® Series 146U Drills Was Uniquely Engineered As A Solution Towards Addressing The Issues Commonly Encountered During High Production Drilling. The Sgs Hi-Percarb® Series 146U Flat Bottom Drills Provide A Robust Solution To A Variety Of Challenging Holemaking Applications In The Automotive, Agriculture, Oil And Gas, And General Machining Industries. Whether Drilling Conventionally, On Angled Or Curved Surfaces, Cross Or Intersecting Holes, Unique Features Of The Sgs Design Combine To Produce Precise, High-Quality Holes, With Minimal Breakout Bur. The Eccentic 4-Margin Design Incorporates A Unique Coolant Channel Design Allowing Repositioning Of The Trailing Margins For Improved Stability Over Conventional Two And Four Margin Drills. The Two Coolant Channel Design Provides Additional Coolant In The Hole When Thru-Tool Coolant Is Not Available. This Eccentric Style Clearance Reduces Margin Contact With The Workpiece Without Reducing Strength. The Primary Only Relief Geometry Allows The Trailing Margins To Help Stabilize The Drill Up To Three Times Faster Than Conventional Designs And The High Shear Corner Geometry Minimizes Exit Bur. The Computer Controlled Edge Honing Process Protects Against Edge Chipping In Difficult Drilling Applications. The Coolant-Through Design Puts Coolant As Close To The Cut As Possible For Consistent Chip Flushing, Maximum Cooling And Highest Productivity. The Proprietary Sgs Ti-Namite®-X Coating And Post-Coat Polishing Combine To Minimize Material Adhesion And Maximize Wear Resistance In A Wide Range Of Workpiece Materials.
