Ingersoll Grooving Inserts, Parting Blades & Holder Systems
Shop Ingersoll grooving and parting tools for external grooves, internal features, face grooves and cutoff work. Compare T-Clamp Ultra+, GoldFlex, RhinoGroove, CutSFeed and other systems using the separate insert, holder, blade and adapter categories. Start with the groove width and depth or cutoff diameter, then match the cutting component to its specified holder.
T-Clamp Ultra+ & T-Clamp Mini
T-Clamp Ultra+ includes inserts and tooling for listed external, internal, face-grooving and parting operations. T-Clamp Mini has separate inserts and holders for its supported applications. Match the insert seat, cutting width, groove depth and holder style; the broader family name does not make every component interchangeable.
GoldFlex & Modular Grooving
GoldFlex uses dedicated inserts with matching holders and modular adapters for its listed operations. The selection also includes Swiss-type holders and FlexTurn heads with GoldFlex pockets. Choose the correct insert size and pocket, then match the hand, machine-side connection and reach required by the job.
RhinoGroove Inserts & Holders
Compare RhinoGroove inserts and holders for the listed grooving and parting applications, including Swiss-type configurations. Select the width and insert geometry for the groove or cutoff, then check maximum depth and holder access. Confirm the correct single- or double-ended insert configuration on the product drawing.
CutSFeed & WinCut Parting
CutSFeed categories separate cutting inserts, holders, parting blades and blade blocks. WinCut adds triangular blade and holder arrangements. Build the assembly around the supported insert and blade combination, then compare cutting width, maximum cutoff diameter, projection and coolant delivery for the machine setup.
I-Notch & TGroove Tooling
I-Notch grooving inserts pair with the specified external holders or internal bars. TGroove provides another dedicated insert-and-holder family. Compare groove profile, width, depth and work-material application, then use the exact insert designation and seat size to select the holder or replacement cutting component.
Face Grooving & Small-Bore Systems
FaceFlex, QuadFlex, MiniFlex, WinIGroove and T-Micro serve different listed face-grooving or small-feature applications. Identify the actual operation before selecting a family. For internal work, check the minimum bore and reach; for face grooving, verify the permitted groove diameter and the holder’s clearance to the feature.
Set the Groove Width, Depth & Profile First
The part drawing determines cutting width, corner form and the space the tool must reach. Choose an insert intended for the groove profile, then check holder clearance and maximum cutting depth. A similar insert width alone does not establish that a parting tool can make a face groove or an internal feature.
Match Blades, Blocks & Modular Connections
For cutoff work, the insert, blade and block must form the specified assembly. Confirm blade size, clamping arrangement and supported projection. Modular adapters and C-Adapter holders add another connection to verify; include every component when checking the tool’s reach and coolant path.
Complete Internal & Swiss-Type Assemblies
Small bores and Swiss-type stations place tight limits on access and holder size. Match the cutting insert to its dedicated bar, sleeve or head, then check hand and working depth. Use the separate threading categories when the required cutting geometry is for a thread rather than a groove.
Ingersoll Grooving & Parting Tools: Selection Questions
- What is the difference between grooving and parting?
- Grooving produces a recess or channel to the specified width and depth. Parting cuts a component off the workpiece. Some tooling supports both operations, but the permitted depth, insert geometry and holder arrangement must suit the intended cut.
- Can an external grooving holder make a face groove?
- Only when that holder is specifically designed and listed for the face-grooving operation. Face grooves require clearance around the groove diameter that a general external holder may not provide.
- How do I choose a parting blade?
- Match the blade to the insert system and block, then check insert width, maximum cutoff diameter and supported projection. Confirm the clamping and coolant requirements for the complete assembly.
- Are T-Clamp, GoldFlex and CutSFeed inserts interchangeable?
- Use the insert specified for the exact pocket and holder. These are different systems, and a common cutting width or similar shape does not establish compatibility.
- What matters most when selecting an internal grooving tool?
- Check minimum bore, groove location, cutting width, depth and available chip clearance. Select the insert and its matching bar or sleeve, and confirm that the assembled tool can reach the feature without interference.
- Are holders supplied with inserts, blades or adapters?
- The shopping categories separate these components. Review the individual product or kit description for included items and order any required cutting inserts, blades, blocks or adapters separately when they are not included.
