Ingersoll Drills, Replaceable Tips, Boring Tools & Reamers
Shop Ingersoll holemaking and finishing tools from initial drilling through final bore size. Compare solid carbide drills, GoldTwist and TwistSFeed replaceable-tip systems, indexable drills, deep-hole tooling and QwikReam reamers. Use separate searches for bodies, cutting tips and inserts to build the correct assembly for the hole diameter, depth, material and finish requirement.
Solid Carbide Drills
Compare DrillIn, RhinoDrill and SolidDrill3 tools within the solid carbide drill selection. Choose the cutting diameter and usable drilling depth, then check the point geometry, shank and coolant arrangement. Work material and entry conditions help determine the appropriate series; follow the selected drill’s guidance for spotting and hole entry.
Replaceable-Tip Drill Systems
GoldTwist, TwistSFeed, QwikTwist and other replaceable-tip systems separate the cutting component from the body. Match the tip to the exact system, diameter range and body depth. When replacing a tip or building a new assembly, check the specified fastening arrangement and the geometry recommended for the material.
Indexable Drills & Drilling Inserts
Browse QuadDrill+, QuadTwist and other indexable drilling systems, then select their specified inserts. Where a tool has different cutting positions, use the insert assigned to each pocket. Compare cutting diameter, depth, machine connection and coolant requirements, and keep drilling inserts separate from replacement-tip system components.
Deep-Hole, Gundrill & BTA Tooling
DeepDuo, DeepTrio, DeepTwist and BTA categories cover different deep-hole drilling arrangements. Select the system for the machine and coolant setup as well as hole diameter and depth. Pilot or guide requirements, chip evacuation and the specified drivers or accessories must be considered as part of the complete drilling process.
QwikReam Bodies & Reaming Tips
Use reaming to finish a prepared hole when the selected tool suits the required size, tolerance and surface. QwikReam and QwikReamS have separate body and cutting-tip categories. Match the connection, nominal diameter, hole type and material, then prepare the hole with the allowance recommended for that reamer.
Precision Boring & Counterboring
Compare precision boring tools and D’Andrea modular components for the supported bore sizes and assembly arrangements. QuadBore bodies and inserts address listed counterboring operations. Check the machining range, mounting connection, usable reach and cutting component; a nominal hole diameter alone does not define the complete setup.
Coordinate Drilling, Chamfering & Thread Preparation
Drill-chamfer tools and chamfer rings can combine compatible operations when the geometry suits the part. Establish the required prepared-hole size from the intended thread process, then check chamfer diameter, depth and tool clearance. A drill suitable for one tap or thread form may not be appropriate for another.
Match Tips, Inserts & Service Components
Replace cutting components by the exact body family and supported size. GoldTwist, TwistSFeed and other systems are not identified by diameter alone. Check sleeves, drivers, cartridges and hardware in the corresponding category so the assembled tool retains the specified clamping and coolant arrangement.
Select the Finish Operation & Tool Holding
Drilling, reaming and boring solve different holemaking requirements. Use the drawing’s diameter, tolerance, location and surface requirements to choose the sequence. For the finishing tool, also check alignment, holder type and projection; suitable floating reamer chucks or rigid holders depend on the tool and process.
Ingersoll Holemaking & Finishing Tools: Selection Questions
- How do I choose between solid, replaceable-tip and indexable drills?
- Compare the required diameter and depth, work material, coolant capability and replacement strategy. Each system has its own supported range and cutting geometry. Select the specific drill family for the operation rather than assuming one construction fits every hole.
- Can I fit a GoldTwist tip to a TwistSFeed body?
- Select the tip designated for the exact drill system and body size. GoldTwist and TwistSFeed are separate families; matching nominal diameters do not establish connection or geometry compatibility.
- What does a drilling depth such as 5xD describe?
- It expresses a depth relative to the drill diameter. Use the particular tool’s usable-depth specification and drawing. Overall length, flute length and maximum drilling depth are different dimensions.
- When should I ream instead of bore a hole?
- The choice depends on the prepared hole and the final size, tolerance, location and finish requirements. Reaming uses a tool sized for the finished hole; boring uses an appropriate boring assembly. Consult the selected tool’s allowance and setup recommendations.
- Do deep-hole drills need special setup procedures?
- They can require a specified pilot or guide, coolant flow and pressure, and controlled entry or withdrawal. Follow the exact system’s instructions and confirm that the machine supports the required setup before selecting the tool.
- Are QwikReam tips and bodies sold together?
- Bodies, tips and clamping components have separate searches. Review the individual item or kit contents and match the connection size, diameter and hole-type application before ordering.
